Michael Ziegler, Principal
Michael Ziegler has worked in commercial real estate for over 28 years, first as an investment real estate broker, and starting in the early 1990's, as the founder of Ziegler Development Corporation, a development company focused on the adaptive reuse of large industrial sites.

As an innovative pioneer of the "sustainable development" approach to industrial development and adaptive reuse, he balances three interrelated forms of capital: 1) Social capital, a vibrant civil society; 2) Natural capital, a healthy environment and efficient use of resources, and 3) Economic capital, a receptive climate that attracts and creates new businesses; land, infrastructure and buildings; new jobs; local investment of local money; stable tax revenues; global competitiveness; and self-reliance of the local economy.

In recent years, through Michael's focus on the debt markets, he has purchased pools of non-performing and sub-performing loans from banks and hedge funds and working out these "toxic" loans to a profitable outcome.

Michael Ziegler earned his BA in Philosophy from the University of California Berkeley, and later got a MA in Literature  and a D.Min. in Religious Studies. He has been on the faculty of Naropa, The California Institute of Integral Studies and Wisdom University. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of California.
